No only a few percentage points from turning it off. not worth disabling a key feature. When I have that enabled, the batteries drain much faster on both my watches. Obviously the series 2 does not have AOD, but the series 5 has AOD enabled. I have experimented with the series 5 with Raise wrist to wake enabled.
